The Borrego Valley Stewardship Council (BVSC) is seeking for a qualified individual to serve as a Coordinator and assist the BVSC Board of Directors in:
Developing and implementing a community wide public involvement program.
Building community consensus on issues (water, environment, economic development, housing, etc.) which are central to the future for the Borrego Valley, and
Preparing a vision document(s) summarizing the results.
BVSC is a local organization with the mission to celebrate, promote, and protect the unique character, irreplaceable resources, and economic vitality of the Borrego Springs Community and Anza Borrego Desert State Park for residents, businesses, visitors, and future generations.
Desired qualifications include:
Maintain a residence in Borrego Springs
Have experience leading community meetings and facilitating group consensus
Possess strong written and oral communication skills
Have working knowledge of basic communication, microsoft word, powerpoint, excel and or similar data software programs
Services and duties will include:
Planning, scheduling, and facilitating BVSC community outreach forums
Support management of BVSC website and organization documents
Preparing and distributing BVSC communications and other informational materials
Maintaining a database of BVSC membership
Providing general administrative support for daily BVSC operations
Attending and providing support for BVSC Board of Directors meetings
Coordinating with BVSC’s consultant CivicWell to ensure BVSC compliance with foundation and state agency grant/contractual requirements
Other duties as required
This is a part-time position, with a duration of 18 months . Candidates can expect to work between 15 hrs – 20 hrs per week. Rate: $28/hr.
